Annual 'Kheer Bhawani Mela' to be celebrated tomorrow at Tulmula |KNO

Srinagar, Jun 07 (KNO): The annual 'Kheer Bhawani Mela' is all set to be observed tomorrow (Wednesday) in Tulmula area of Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district while the district administration has claimed to have made all the arrangements for the celebrations. Pertinently, Mata Kheer Bhawani Asthapan Trust (MKBAT) had appealed to all devotees, particularly Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) to cancel the annual “Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela” in view of recent targeted killings. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir said that all the arrangements for the annual 'Kheer Bhawani Mela' have been made by the district administration. He said that Langer and other facilities have been established by the people, adding that the festive look could be witnessed at the place a day ahead of the annual celebrations. He said that some of the devotees have reached the place today while others will reach there tomorrow. “The administration has made free bus services available at eight places across Kashmir,” he said. DC Ganderbal said that the annual event is being celebrated since long and even during the peak militancy; the event was being celebrated with religious fervor in which the people belonging to different religions provide facilities to the devotees—(KNO)
